The transmission dipstick is not meant to remain in vehicle during regular operation. It is strictly a service tool.
2002-2006, T1N models: Dipstick will bottom out leaving approximately 3" of dipstick protruding from the tube.
2007-2012, NCV3 models: Dipstick will completely enter the tube. (The tube is longer on the later models)
